Expeditionary Learning: History of Tidioute
On Wednesday, Nov. 11th the Tidioute Community Charter School celebrated a town history night. The community, staff, and students were invited to observe community projects the school students completed. Projects included, but were not limited to, a town history book compiled by the students, a video compilation of disasters in Tidioute, a student created economic plan for the community, and a scientific demonstration of oil drilling in the area. These projects were completed school-wide from kindergarten to 12th grade. There were even local historians on hand to answer any questions and explain historical displays. The night was used to demonstrate Tidioute's unique expeditionary education, and was an overwhelming success.
